Watched this movie – The Wedding Diary 结婚那件事 at MBO Cinema Terminal 2 just now. It’s a Malaysia and Singapore joint production featuring Hong Kong artist. They are Elanne Kwong & Kara Hui & local artist Aniu.
In this comedy romance film, Elanne & Aniu is a couple who got together not long and they stepped into marriage life, just like the movie title which tells about a series of happenings before, during & after a wedding.
Basically, it touches the topic of a wedding and the marriage that comes after that where a lot of details need to be in consideration as it’s not about of two person, but about two parties who used to be strangers getting together becoming a big family. Financial issues is the biggest problem in this case where Wei Jie (Aniu) comes from a malaysian humble hokkien family background in Penang, Malaysia & Zhi Xin ( Elanne Kwong) comes from a rich reputable family from Singapore.
During the wedding... ...
After their wedding... ...
A series of unfortunate events happened to Wei Jie as a result to the wedding which costs all his savings and things got worse from there. Overall, this movie is a good local comedy romance film where I think I really like the touching plot. It’s suitable for couples who are planning to get married, already married or those who failed in their past relationship as well.
The backgrounds are quite plain, nothing really fancy about the surroundings featuring places in Singapore & Malaysia, however the movie did touched me a few times especially towards the end when a tragedy happened and it made me in teary eyes.
It’s pretty awesome to have both of them in this local production. One is pretty and the another one is talented who she has really great acting skill.
One nice movie to watch and it’s worth. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so if you’re looking for a movie to watch with your partner, this is the one. =)
The end.
